CNS RESTATES COMMITMENT TO IMPROVED CYBER SECURITY POSTURE

The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas has restated the commitment of the Nigerian Navy (NN) in improving the cyber security posture of its personnel through cyber security awareness training.

Speaking at a seminar organized for senior naval officers at the Naval Headquarters, Abuja, the CNS, represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans, Rear Admiral Begroy Ibe-Enwo added that the NN will continue to sensitize it’s personnel on issues of cyber security in order to reduce the risk of cyber security attack in the Service.

While thanking the organisers and resource persons for the Seminar, Rear Admiral Ibe-Enwo urged the participants to maximally utilize the benefits of the seminar to better themselves as individuals and the Service as a whole.

With the theme ”Improving Organisational Cyber Security Posture Through Awareness Training”, the Seminar saw the presentation of papers titled “Understanding Cyber Space – First Step to Cyber Security” and “Certified Secure Computer User” presented by Commodore Hamza Ibrahim and Mr. Martins David respectively.

Other participants at the Seminar include some senior staff of the Defence and Service Headquarters, Defence Space Administration, National Information Technology Development Agency, Nigerian Computer Society and  Computer Security Experts Association of Nigeria.
